Understanding The Experimental Drug

This medication is an investigational injectable developed by US drugmaker Eli Lilly. The drug affects three gut hormones – glucagon-like peptide-1, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and glucagon. Early trials suggest it could help individuals reduce up to a quarter of their body weight. Nicknamed the “triple G”, the drug is being promoted digitally as the next Ozempic.

Healthcare Experts Voice Worries

Investigations also discovered communities with up to nine thousand participants selling the experimental drug using Telegram's integrated search feature, which functions like a public directory. Entering “retatrutide” immediately brings up channels with thousands of members, filled with photos of weight loss, positive reviews and step-by-step guides for mixing or injecting at residence.

After moments of entering one group, a seller posted contact information, where most purchases take place. The seller provided an guidebook and promised shipping within 48 hours. When asked whether the substance was authentic, one seller said: “You can’t be sure.” Another shared a image of a supposed laboratory certificate. None asked about weight, health issues or previous experience.
